Alleged Hells Angel pleads not guilty to gun charge

Hell To Pay: Hells Angels vs. The Million-Dollar Rat36-year-old Gilroy man pleaded not guilty today to charges that he was carrying a loaded Beretta handgun not registered to him, plus an allegation that he is an active member of the Hells Angels, prosecutors said.
The motorcycle group has been deemed an illegal street gang.
Cesar Villagrana crashed his motorcycle in Aptos on March 17 and his "gear spread across the road," leading to the discovery of the gun, prosecutor Charlie Baum said.
Villagrana was injured in the crash, but appears to have recovered. A tall, solidly built man, he was in court for the hearing. He politely declined comment.
His attorney, Michael Hingle of San Jose, also declined comment, saying it would be inappropriate to do so at this early stage in the proceedings.
Before the hearing, Baum said, "I just doesn't like gangsters with guns."
Villagrana's preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 13.
