51-year-old Leif Ivar Kristiansen was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison for drugs offences, aggravated robbery, as well as threatening behavior towards competitors in the tattoo/piercing industry, NRK reports.
Oslo police arrested the alleged gang leader in March following major raids on three tattoo shops in properties in Lillehammer, Trondheim, and Tromsø.
During the trial, one of co-defendants, a 32-year-old father-of-three who cooperated with police, testified he felt threatened following a visit to his partner by two of Mr Kristiansen’s associates, subsequently filing charges with police. He was sentenced to 420 hours community service and 60 days in jail.
Three other individuals were also given prison terms, and Mr Kristiansen was ordered to pay a total of 275,000 kroner compensation.
Defending counsel Morten Furuholmen told Addresseavisen “it is an improper verdict and one that will not seem fair in retrospect.”
“I will be appealing against everything possible,” said the alleged gang leader following the verdict.
